"I live in a duplex/rowhouse/townhouse; do I have to worry about heat loss due to air leaks?"

YES! In fact, some of these homes are worse than freestanding homes! The unfortunate reality is many duplex/townhouse/rowhouse homeowners are living with an overwhelming amount of heat loss due to air leaks and are unaware of the amount of savings than can be gained by finding and repairing air leaks.

"What if I am a renter; will you do an air test on the home we are renting?"

There are significant benefits from having your home tested and air sealed, however we are unable to conduct these tests for tenants. Please contact the landlord/homeowner and they can contact Draft Doctors to arrange an appointment.

"What if I want to go beyond 3 Air Changes per Hour?"

Draft Doctors recommends the Passive House Standard. Passive House is the world's leading standard in low energy building and can deliver reductions in energy consumption of 85% versus the limits of conventional construction. Customers of Draft Doctors may apply to have their Draft Doctors' Air Test fee rebated upon referral to the local Passive House Representative. Contact Draft Doctors for further details.

"Can't I do this myself?"

If you know where you are losing heat and you know what needs to be done to repair it: YES! However, keep in mind that even architects, civil engineers, and building trades use Air Testing services to find air leaks…after all, you can't fix what you can't find. Also, sometimes you may not know how to properly fix leaks you find. Further, please be aware of safety issues when considering air sealing your home. If you're not sure how to repair air leaks properly and safely, please contact Draft Doctors before you begin!
